In a period of global uncertainty, Bank Frick is proving resilient to the turbulence of the first half of the year. The first six months were characterised by geopolitical tensions, the decline in the US dollar and falling interest rates.

On track in the first half of the year
In this challenging market environment, Bank Frick achieved a net profit of 4.5 million francs. Although interest rates fell and clients' interest rate sensitivity remained high, net income remained stable. Of the bank’s three main sources of income, the trading business increased by 13.2 percent to 16.9 million francs compared to the 2024 half-year result, whereas the net result from the commission and services business remained flat at 9.2 million francs (- 0.3 percent). Net interest income fell slightly by 3.5 percent to 20.2 million francs, which was to be expected given the interest rate cuts in the first half of the year.

Blockchain banking grows further
In terms of our business areas, the number of clients and income in blockchain banking have increased significantly. “We performed well in the first half of the year and are satisfied with the net profit we achieved. The result reflects the strengths of our robust business model and demonstrates our adaptability,” says CEO Edi Wögerer. Blockchain banking continues to contribute to Bank Frick’s growth.

Investments for solid growth continued
The net profit, which fell by almost one million francs overall compared to the 2024 half-year result, is closely linked to Bank Frick’s growth strategy: The company not only invested in strategic projects and IT infrastructure, but also saw its staff expenses increase by 5 percent. These investments are a core element in achieving our own growth strategy's targets: to gain new market share through scalable, innovative products and expand Bank Frick’s position as product leader. “We see significant growth also in the coming years. The investments are paying off and securing our product leadership in the areas that are important to us,” emphasises Mario Frick, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Assets under management (AuM) and net new money
Client assets under management amounted to 5.03 billion francs, down 11 percent on the result as at 31 December 2024 (5.6 billion francs). In the first half of the year, there was a net outflow of new money totalling 284 million francs. This performance is in line with normal dynamics in a highly competitive market.

Outlook for the second half of the year
In view of the macroeconomic environment, 2025 remains a challenging year. The bank continues to face geopolitical tensions, protectionist tendencies in global trade and economic uncertainties. “We are nevertheless convinced that we will also achieve positive results in the second half of the year and see growth opportunities. We are therefore sticking to our net profit forecast of 9 million francs for the 2025 financial year,” says CFO Melanie Mündle.
